KVM over IP Switches

IP remote access (also known as KVM over IP) allows you to access your connected servers over the local network via LAN/WAN or the Internet. Whether you’re in the next room or halfway around the world, you’ll be able to monitor and control servers through a standard Web browser or multi-platform client software.

Access Servers from Anywhere in the World

The NetDirector® Cat5 KVM switch offers BIOS-level access to multiple servers in a complex, demanding IT environment.  IT administrators can access critical servers locally at the rack using a rack console screen, via the LUC port (Laptop USB Console) by connecting a laptop directly to it, or remotely using a web browser from anywhere in the world.

Network-Wide Storage Media Access

Virtual Media capability allows any computer connected to the KVM to access DVD/CD drives, flash drives and other storage media from a remote computer, as if it were directly connected. This allows administrators to perform file transfers, install software and perform diagnostics across a network.

All-in-One Network Management for Critical Systems

The NetDirector® Cat5 KVM switch installs in 1U of space in a standard 19-inch rack. The KVM switch provides access to servers without any agents or software running on the server, ensuring server performance and reliability are never compromised.

High-Resolution On-Screen Display Offers Multi-Language Support

The advanced OSD with high-resolution video up to 1920 x 1200 (at 60 Hz) with 24-bit color depth provides a GUI with management tools, including custom port labeling, auto-scanning and panel array mode. The OSD may be set to display in English, German, Russian, Japanese, traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese.

Supports All Major Operating Systems and Most Web Browsers

The NetDirector® Cat5 KVM switch supports all major server platforms and VT100-based serial devices. Because compatibility is based on common hardware standards, rather than system software dependencies, almost any platform can be accommodated. S

Heightened Security of Every Connection

The NetDirector® Cat5 KVM switch offers three levels of password protection to prevent unauthorized access to connected servers whilst able to integrate with RADIUS, LDAP, LDAPS and Active Directory for added security. The KVM switch also supports advanced encryption such as 1024-bit RSA, 56-bit DES, 256-bit AES and 128-bit SSL as well as complying to FIPS 140-2 level 1 security standards.

Energy-Efficient Operation Prolongs the KVM’s Lifespan

Temperature sensors automatically increase or decrease the speed of the unit's fans as necessary to ensure efficient cooling. This decreases the amount of energy consumed, while prolonging the life of the fans and KVM switch.

Failover and Redundancy

Dual redundant power supplies and dual 1GB LAN ports ensure the KVM switch will continue operating in the event the primary network is down or if the power supply fails, providing 24/7 reliability.
